God is so faithful! 

I woke up this morning to an email from Harriet rejoicing as she told me that God had sent the rain! 

One of my mission highlights this year was a day alone with Harriet, my dear Ugandan sister.  We travelled to different villages to share with the women's groups that we had been to last year! 

Let me back track to '09!  Harriet is in charge of Women's ministries and I had the privilege to work alongside her.  When we left last year I gave her money from me and my sisterchick, Bev, to use in the Women's Ministries program.  The monies were used in the village of Bulema where the ladies rented a plot of ground and planted rice.  They were so excited for me to see how they had used the monies and to see their first crop.  It was a joyous afternoon!  We all stood in the middle of this rice field rejoicing in the Lord, and praying for the rain! 

I left that village with a gift of one live chicken, it road beside me, feet tied up, for the rest of our travels that day, a bag of sweet potatoes, seven avacados, and a bag of flour.  These women, have so little, and yet, they have so much! 

And the day ended by visiting the pineapple plantation--our Christmas gift to Harriet and the Women's Ministries.  I had the privilege there too to stand among all the pineapple seedlings and pray over it, asking God to send the rain!

So today, when Harriet emailed to say, IT IS RAINING, I knew it was going to be a good day!  I was reminded of verses God had given me at the beginning of the mission from John 11:40, "Did I not tell you that if you BELIEVE you would see the glory of God?"  And then in verse 41 Jesus said to His Father, looking up, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me!"

The Father heard us, we believed, and God sent the rain, His glory!

I just rec'd an email from Pastor Phillip and he said it is still raining and they are planting as they rejoice in God hearing our prayers!
